This Will Be My Second Year

This Will Be My Second Year

Postby iluvaz on Thu Apr 17, 2008 11:41 am

The end of September this year, will be my 3rd visit to the ranch (it will be a birthday present to myself!)....and it seems
SOOOO far away!! My first visit last year was the first vacation I'd had in 3 years.
I've always loved to ride, but don't get the chance very often at home.

So, one day at work (while daydreaming of a vacation!) I "out of the blue" decided to Google "dude ranch"....and....WOW....
I could not believe how many choices there were! So, for several days I researched ranches from
Arizona to Wyoming and every place in between. For some reason I kept going back to WSR and
finally called and made my first reservation.....the rest, as they say, is history! I am HOOKED on ranch vacations. I plan on
returning at LEAST once every year.
Bur for now, alas, I sit at my desk and dream of my next visit to White Stallion!

I think we share the same story! I am hooked! Before we left for home, I couldn't help myself....just automatically booked for the same time next year (February).

Now, I am trying to figure out a way to get there at least one more time before then.

I have been on some great top and bottom of the line cruises, but nothing beat this. I would take this over a cruise any day!

When we were there I heard this same story repeated over and over by other vacationers. One from Scotland, one from Belgium, and two from Canada...Amazing huh? It says a lot for the Trues in my opinion.

Too funny, I'm from Florida as well. I have been on several cruises as well, and ranch vacations
to me are in a way like a cruise on dry land....the all inclusiveness....meals, activities etc....
But you darn sure can't ride a horse on a cruise ship! On my first visit I met some women from North Carolina, and
a couple of them were travel agents who have been to several guest ranches. They told me White Stallion was by far
their favorite. It was the 8th trip for one of them. So yes, it does say something about the True's....they've got it down!

Funny, the Floridians abound....This other lady posting to me under .....What job would you like to have <Dirty Jobs>, has a tie to Florida too! I think she said she grew up in WPB, and went to school in Deland. I am from Sarasota, and grad. from UCF and USF.

I was born and raised here, and I think as soon as this becomes Los Angeles east, or NYC south, I am going to head west to Tucson permanently! It sure is a different place than where I grew up!

My family and I started going as a group about 8 years ago. Myself, my Aunt and my Cousin came 5 years before that and we talked about for 5 years straight. Finally we went back and have gone once a year since then. I believe this November will be my 8th year straight. Last year we had our biggest family group ever there was 12 of us and we are all going back again this year.

I've only been the once but I too am hooked. All I can do is think about when I can return. I visited with my sister last September and had the most wonderful time, my sister has 4 kids which we left at home, so it was nice to see her as Sarah not just mum. we met some wonderful people. 'Hi' to any one who remembers us, and as for the activites, team penning, who'd thought herding cows could be so much fun. In fact I think the whole week was magical, the stuff every girls dreams are made of.

I haven't booked any thing for this year yet, but I'm sure it won't be long before I do.

Lovely to read this posts. I will be there in a week and it's my first time in Arizona and a first horse riding holiday. I'm so exciting, that I would love to just go home and start packing already and leave cold UK : -) I will come by myself and I'm really looking for to meet new people!

Coming in April! First trip to the ranch and second trip to Arizona. Can't wait to breathe fresh air with no pollen on the back of a horse. Love to ride, from Pennsylvania. :D

This will be my 2nd visit, and my husband's first. Our daughter and I were there in June 2007. As has been mentioned before, rebooking the next trip while still at the ranch is a no-brainer, and I did so on that first trip. Unfortunately, due to very unexpected delays, we've had to cancel and rebook twice since then. The staff at WS was absolutely great in helping us rebook both times, and have been extremely understanding and accomodating. I'm SO excited to be able to finally be going back in a month after almost 2 years of delays!! My husband is tired of hearing about how much he's going to love WS, but he'll understand what I've been raving about once we arrive. I've been many, many places, including Europe and cruises, on vacations and WS is by far and away the best destination I've ever been to. If I were 30 years younger, I'd be applying for a job at WS so as to become part of this wonderful community! I am so looking very forward to a week of R&R, great food, great horses, and a fantastic staff!!
