Dirty Jobs

If you could work on the ranch for one week, whose job would you choose?

Thank you, it really is beautiful here in Sarasota, but I also think Phoenix is breath taking.

In answer to your question, nothing so glamorous as happens on the TV. Mostly identifying infectious diseases and determining people immune status. Nothing so exciting as grooming, or cleaning up after our favorite horses...

I actually had my dream job. It was 10-15 years ago (Yiks!) but it was the best. I worked at the Woodlands Race Track in Kansas City Kansas as a groom/hot walker on the back side of the horse track. Many days as I pulled in past the security guard post tears would come to my eyes. Everywhere I looked were horses on hotwalkers and people getting busy readying the horses for a new day. The work was the hardest I have ever, ever done. The hours were well over 10-12 a day, 7 days a week but you just could't beat the company. I miss it alot and would do it again in a heart beat but the horse racing dropped to a 30 day meet each year and has since closed all together. I can't imagine any other place to work that you get paid to get fit and work with what you love. I am so looking forward to hanging out with what I love again at the White Stallion Ranch. Oh, by the way, ya it was Dirty. I don't think anyone every managed to get as dirty as me. I guess it was the way I "threw" myself into my work, manure and all. :D
